Comment on cabbage and sausage casserole by Melissa K.

This was divine. I halved the recipe and cooked it in a 7×11 pan for 1.5hrs covered, 15 mins uncovered. I used chicken sausage and green cabbage (all my farmers market had), plus some fresh sourdough and mustard. I could eat this every night, and it’s especially great for an easy winter meal. Make sure you squeeze out the cabbage, not just drain it – it really helped to have minimal liquid in the bottom.

Comment on foolproof cacio e pepe by Melissa K

This is a game changer. Ever since we got home from our vacation in Rome, I have been trying to get Cacio e Pepe right. I made this tonight and it came out perfect. Thanks!

Comment on everyday chocolate cake by Melissa K.

I made this using Hershey’s cocoa powder + 4 oz melted dark chocolate – color turned out somewhere between the two Deb tested. Baked for 65 mins, and came to the very very top of my loaf pan, but didn’t overflow!

Comment on triple berry summer buttermilk bundt by Melissa K.

I just made these and am in love! Only had blueberries, and added about 1/2c coconut to batter as well. My bundt went mysteriously missing, so I did muffins (~36) that I baked for 25 mins. Came out incredibly tender and delicious!

Comment on pecan pie by Melissa K.

This is in our regular holiday rotation, and I think I’ve made it at least half a dozen times. I’ve added chocolate chips to the cooled filling, and also done a ganache layer, all with great results. The golden syrup is wonderful, though I’ve also used corn syrup when my grocery store decided to stop carrying golden syrup.

Comment on cheesecake-marbled pumpkin slab pie by Melissa K.

I have made this multiple times and it is always perfect as is. I tried a GF version during the holidays with AP GF King Arthur’s, and found the crust to be like shortbread, which was a wonderful surprise. This pie is pretty easy, and always a show-stopper.

Comment on sausage and potato roast with arugula by Melissa K.

I make this regularly for dinner and it is always wonderful. I usually cut Whole Foods mild Italian sausage links in half, and add some cauliflower to the pan towards the end. Highly recommend!

Comment on apple sharlotka by Melissa K.

This just came out of the oven and it is wonderful! I used a mix of apples I had on hand (pink lady, honey crisp, golden delicious). A little sweet, I’d likely cut down on the sugar a bit next time and/or use more tart apples. I only had a 10 inch springform and it came out perfect at 45 minutes.

Comment on baked pasta with broccoli rabe and sausage by Melissa K.

As a tomato-hater, I’m constantly searching for baked pastas that i’ll Actually enjoy, and this was PERFECT. I made this today with regular broccoli (no broccoli rabe at my grocery store this week!) and my family devoured this. This will definitely go into my regular rotation.
