A Royal coup, Malia Obama's bribe scandal, and man-eating Angelina Jolie, in this week’s reality-challenged tabloids

When Carlos Castaneda spoke of “a separate reality,” he could easily have been thinking of this week’s through-the-looking-glass tabloids. How else to explain the ‘Globe’ cover story: “Malia Obama Caught Up in Harvard Bribe Scandal!” No, she isn’t. Malia allegedly took tennis lessons from the Harvard tennis coach accused of accepting bribes for recruiting non-athletes to the university. But Malia didn’t win a tennis scholarship to Harvard, or any athletic scholarship, so there’s no scandal, just...

The Cussing Pastor Thaddeus Matthews Reads K. Michelle for Filth in Memphis Restaurant & on Instagram

These new-age pastors sure as hell ain’t like the pastors that your mamas, your daddies or your memaw and pop-pop used to know.Thaddeus Matthews, aka the Cussing Pastor, has made a name for himself on social media by telling it like it is, with no regard for using foul language despite his being a so-called man of God.It’s probably not most folks’ brand of refreshing, healing and genuine Christianity, but hey, it’s good for a laugh on the ‘gram. But apparently, Pastor Matthews is ready to auditio...

CBS upfront: ‘Young Sheldon’ takes ‘Big Bang’ slot on Thursdays

In its first upfront in recent memory without (former CEO) Leslie Moonves at the helm and sans “The Big Bang Theory,” the eye network announced that it’s adding eight new shows to its 2019-2020 primetime schedule. “Our new lineup features both classic CBS shows and genres that viewers love, as well as some new series that push the boundaries of what you might expect from us,” Kelly Kahl, president of CBS Entertainment, said in a statement. “We are also saving some very strong series for the s...

Michelle Obama Just Wore Christopher John Rogers, An Emerging Black Designer

Michelle Obama continues to dazzle us with her post-White House fashion. Now that she is a private citizen, the former First Lady is giving us all sorts of high-end designers she may have shied away from during Barack Obama's presidency. Since her Becoming book tour kicked off last year, she's worn those (now) infamous Givenchy boots, Cushnie, Pyer Moss, and Stine Goya. On Monday, during the final stop on her book tour in Nashville, Obama wore a statement suit by emerging designer Christopher ...

Comment on braised ginger meatballs in coconut broth by Michelle

One of the best things I’ve ever made! I used ground turkey because it was on sale. I put both red chiles in the broth- perfect heat with the coconut milk. I wish I’d doubled the sauce/broth. I couldn’t believe I had made it myself- exotic and incredibly flavorful. Thank you for a totally amazing recipe!

Comment on leek toasts with blue cheese by Michelle

I made this as a snack this weekend – so amazing! Kudos to the other person that recommended chicken, I did that for my partner who eats meat. I think I’ll be doing this again, maybe adding a fried egg on top. Super easy – would be perfect for a crowd or brunch since it comes together really fast.

Democrat strategy of dividing the country along racial lines will backfire

Most polls show Americans are more severely split and entrenched along partisan lines than ever before. Conservative Republican voters believe Trump was sent by God. Democrats agree, but only because God was out of frogs and locusts. Dems think Republicans were antagonistic to our first African-American president, so they are not being very kind to our first orange one. We are also divided as much along racial lines, and Democrats’ strategy is to fan the fires of racial division in order to win ...

Aretha Franklin murdered, Kevin Spacey in slaying scandal, and Obama’s secret lover, in this week’s dubious tabloids

With the news that scandal-plagued American Media Inc. plans to sell its tabloid empire including the ‘National Enquirer’ and ‘Globe,’ the rags’ hacks seem to have given up all pretense of trying to inject reality into their fact-challenged offerings this week. The ‘Enquirer’ pulls out all the stops in trying to scare off a prospective purchaser, with a clutch of dubious stories. “Aretha Franklin Was Murdered!” screams its cover story. No, she wasn’t. “Queen of Soul EXHUMED after nine months” th...

K. Michelle Crashed a Country Music Event & Said “I’m a Black Girl Who Sings Better Than Any White MF Country Singer! I’m the Next Motherf**king Taylor Swift!”

In a world where Lil Nas X has subverted norms about genres and teamed up with Billy Ray Cyrus to top the Billboard Hot 100, it’s understandable that other black musicians would see the country music genre as ripe fruit, fresh for the picking. And that kind of genre experimentation is fantastic. The idea that black musicians can ONLY do hip-hop or R&B is stifling, racist and limiting. But K. Michelle, who is Tennessee-born and raised, has decided that the best way for her to make her mark on the ...

5G networks will be 10 times faster than 4G LTE, but we shouldn't get too excited yet

5G will be super fast and create possibilities for wireless VR experiences, driverless cars, and medical advances.  But the millimeter waves that 5G uses has a short range, which means network providers will need to develop a whole new, costly infrastructure.  5G is currently available in very limited areas with very few devices on the market that are compatible.  Watch the video above to get more information about the hurdles 5G needs to overcome. I will spend my life fighting against the death penalty and I’m proud to have Newsom with me

For as long as I can remember I have been against the death penalty. Killing someone because they had taken someone else’s life seemed so hypocritical and medieval. I remember talking to my dear friend Victoria Buzzo at a holiday party thrown by my sister Laura about my feelings around the death penalty and if they would change if someone I loved was murdered. I hoped I would still oppose it. Then on Oct. 12, 2011, I found out both Laura and Victoria were murdered along with three of their co-wo...
