Blues’ Defensive Pair Spark New Flame

Impressive defensive pairings are noteworthy. Colton Parayko and Marco Scandella are headliners. The newest addition to the St. Louis Blues can’t fill Jay Bouwmeester’s skates, nor would he want to. The fact is, they play a similar style, which is what general manager Doug Armstrong was counting on. The new pair has six points combined in the three games they’ve played together thus far.  Home Debut for Scandella Scandella logged 19:24 on the ice, was a plus-1 and a valuable asset on the...

Flyers’ Best 2019-20 Acquisition: Alain Vigneault

The Philadelphia Flyers have surged up the standings and can now go toe to toe with the NHL’s top teams, all thanks to their best acquisition of the 2019-20 season: head coach Alain Vigneault. He has the Flyers gunning for a spot in the rugged Metropolitan Division, making sure the league hasn’t forgotten about the orange and black. NHL Rumors: Oilers, Canucks, Maple Leafs, Wild, More

In today’s NHL rumors rundown, there is fallout from the NHL’s Trade Deadline day including rumors about teams being in on certain deals, others that fell through, and why other teams made trades that were a bit surprising. And, there was a huge trade being discussed all day Monday but never materialized. Why? Oilers Were In on Other Deals The Edmonton Oilers were among the busier teams on deadline day and Ken Holland among the busier of GM’s adding three pieces and moving a couple othe...

Blue Jackets Remain Confident Despite Quiet Deadline

Unwavering confidence. That is what Blue Jackets general manager Jarmo Kekalainen showed when he spoke to the media on Monday after having a much quieter trade deadline than last season. They made just two moves on the day. However the team seems pleased with how things went. You can watch his availability below. When the dust settled on everything, the Blue Jackets sent two players to new teams while acquiring one. The makeup of the current roster didn’t change much at all as ...

Bruins’ Lines Coming Into Focus After Trades

As the NHL trade deadline passed Monday afternoon, it was a quiet deadline for the Boston Bruins in terms of making a big splash. Two moves by Bruins’ general manager Don Sweeney in the final three days of the deadline landed two forwards. On Friday, they acquired right wing, Ondrej Kase, from the Anaheim Ducks. Monday, they made a second deal in 72 hours with the Ducks, acquiring left wing Nick Ritchie for Danton Heinen. No big-name scorer was added to the roster, which means Boston believes th...

2020 NHL Trade Deadline: Fisher’s Winners & Losers

By my count, there were 30 deals on deadline day involving 55 players and 25 draft picks. That included 36 legitimate NHLers, plus 19 minor-leaguers or prospects on the move on Feb. 24. Dating back to Feb. 5 — when Toronto acquired Jack Campbell and Kyle Clifford from Los Angeles — there were exactly 50 trades leading up to the 2020 deadline. It sure felt like a busy month, with business picking up as per usual but even more so than anticipated. Ironically, I posted a poll on Twitter sett...

2020 Trade Deadline: 3 Teams That Improved Their Prospect Pools

The 2020 NHL Trade Deadline has come and gone, and as you can expect there were some massive moves. As with any trade deadline, some teams were buying veteran and NHL players as they ramp up for a playoff run, but some teams were selling these pieces off in return for young prospects and draft picks. Granted, there weren’t as many prospects moved as we’ve seen in past years but still, a few notable ones changed teams. Related: The NHL’s Best Farm Systems Ranked – Midseason Update Out of a...

(Screen snip, YouTube, NBC) U.S.A. –-(Ammoland.com)- The traditionally anti-gun-rights Seattle Times has endorsed Minnesota Democrat Sen. Amy Klobuchar in advance of Washington State’s March 10 primary, and like every other candidate in the race, she’s got a gun control scheme that appears based on a misunderstanding of what the Second Amendment is all about. 'Why would I get out?': Democrats brush off calls to quit

Bernie Sanders' ascendance in the Democratic presidential primary has brought louder calls for some of his rivals to drop out of the race. Centrists need to consolidate their support behind a single candidate if they want to ensure the party doesn't nominate a democratic socialist, the argument goes. “Why would I get out?" Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar said during a stop in Arkansas the day after the Nevada caucus, where she is in sixth place with all precincts reporting.
