Source: Longtime Vikings returner Marcus Sherels agrees to deal with Saints

Marcus Sherels, one of the longest-tenured Vikings players, is moving on from Minnesota. Sherels, a free agent, agreed to sign a one-year deal with the Saints on Thursday, according to a league source. The 31-year-old returner is the third ex-Vikings player to sign with New Orleans this offseason, joining running back Latavius Murray and guard Nick Easton. Sherels became an NFL survivor and locker room favorite since going undrafted in 2010 out of Minnesota. He almost instantly grew into one of ...

Predators’ History with College Free Agents

It’s the time of the year when the college hockey season is coming an end and that means several things when it comes to NHL teams. For collegiate players who have been drafted, it means they have the opportunity to sign with the team that drafted them, potentially joining that team for the remainder of the regular season. However, for college players who either haven’t been drafted or have been drafted but never signed and just completed their senior season, they become unrestricted free agents...

Discussing the Hobey Baker Finalists

Yesterday, the 10 finalists for this year’s Hobey Baker Award were announced. Here were some of my thoughts on the players selected, players that weren’t, and who should end up winning the award in Buffalo. Earlier this year, I heralded this as the Year of the Defenseman. At the end of the season, that still holds true. Six of the ten finalists for the award were defensemen. And it was much deserved because those defensemen scored at a truly incredible rate this year. I mentioned in the pr...

Karlsson, Panarin & Bobrovsky Can Cash in With Strong Finish

Many NHL teams have plenty to play for down the final stretch of the regular season, trying to get in the playoffs or to improve their positioning, before 16 teams compete for the Stanley Cup. Daddy’s Hangout 2019 NCAA Tournament Prediction

It’s that time of year again and that’s March Madness of course. Honestly, this is my favorite time of the year because anything can happen, and it usually does. Coming into the tournament, Duke is the overwhelming favorite and deservedly so. Zion Williamson is the phenom that everyone talked about and then some. In the ACC tournament, he became the first freshman since Kevin Durant to average 30 points and 10 boards in a conference tournament. There are quite a few other teams that have a gre...

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Bundled up against the icy cold and drifting snow, Don Olson has tended the trail of a popular cross country ski race in Minnesota for years. (American Chemical Society) When consumed in contaminated water, the microscopic parasite Cryptosporidium can cause symptoms of stomach cramps, diarrhea and fever. Only as good as your name? You Beto believe it!

When it comes to evaluating people we don’t know much about, typically the first thing we judge them by is their name. Fair or not, somebody’s name causes us to make certain assumptions about their age, gender, where they come from or even what their religion might be — as there generally aren’t too many Millie’s under the age of 80, women named Bob, or Mormons named Muhammad. The cues in a name can lead us to positive reactions, or make us skeptical and suspicious. This is human nature, and no ...
