Los Angeles City Hall indulges in micromanagement and overreach

Los Angeles city officials have plenty of pressing matters to deal with, but that hasn’t stopped them from indulging in overreach and nanny-statism. Consider just some of the many things the city has on its plate as it is. The city of Los Angeles has to contend with a perpetual homelessness problem, a high rate of poverty, increasingly unaffordable housing costs for many who live in the city, perpetually bloated pension obligations and city finances featuring faster growth in spending than reven...

The National Rifle Association compiled a list of its enemies

I have no love for the NRA but I am going to defend them here. The title of this article is misleading and makes them look antisemitic in the minds of slow-witted people. The fact that they are at odds with so many "Jewish" groups does not make them bigots. It simply means that those groups are on the wrong side of the gun control issue. The National Rifle Association compiled a list of its enemies and it reads like a Jewish who’s who list. Read more: https://forward.com/opinion/170775/t...-en...

Gun Maker Can Be Sued Over Marketing For Rifle In Sandy Hook Shooting

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Gun maker Remington can be sued over how it marketed the Bushmaster rifle used to kill 20 children and six educators at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012, a divided Connecticut Supreme Court ruled Thursday. Justices issued a 4-3 decision that reinstated a wrongful death lawsuit and overturned a lower court ruling that the lawsuit was prohibited by a 2005 federal law that shields gun manufacturers from liability in most cases when their products are used in crimes. The...

Kamala Harris Clinton – An Existential Threat to Our Second Amendment ~ VIDEO

Opinion Fairfax, VA – -(Ammoland.com)- Kamala Harris is a political sycophant of the highest order. She's like a desperate dude at a bar right after last call… willing to say anything to go home with whoever's still there. The sad thing is she's not even good at it. Even though she's been doing it her entire political career. It's like the right side of her mouth doesn't know what the left side of her mouth is doing. The right side of her mouth will say, “She supports the Second Amendment.” B...

Opinion: The tide is turning against the NRA

Nearly a decade ago, Barack Obama and large Democratic majorities in Congress demonstrated one of the most prolific records of legislating in the history of the republic. As a congressional staffer at the time, I would have never guessed that where they failed -- in any effort to take on the National Rifle Association and pass gun safety legislation -- a new generation of freshmen members of Congress would succeed. But this month, that's exactly what we're witnessing.

Democrats launch sweeping probe targeting dozens in Trump orbit

One party rule is one party to skip

The stories come at us from every direction, relentlessly, 24/7/365, our newsfeeds bombarding us with scandals and catastrophes both natural and man-made, with obvious outrages demanding our immediate attention, as well as a steady stream of lesser or localized transgressions we just don’t have the bandwidth to absorb. In the last year, the Los Angeles City Council passed laws prohibiting any business performing work on President Trump’s “big beautiful wall” from gaining a contract with the city...

Gavin Newsom takes a jackhammer to Jerry Brown’s legacy

When former California Gov. Jerry Brown announced that he was departing Sacramento for his family ranch in Colusa County, he wanted the world to know that he’d be doing a lot more than hanging out in his easy chair and binge-watching trash TV on Bravo. In a wide-ranging interview with KQED radio, Brown said, “This is not a retirement — this is an action-packed path here that you should be following very closely.” Brown vowed to continue to fight for his signature political initiatives, and noted...

Agree Or Disagree, Sheriffs Must Enforce New State Gun Law

So says the editorial board of the Seattle Times. After their elections, county sheriffs take an oath to uphold the laws of the country, state and county — even when they disagree. At least 13 county sheriffs have said they won’t enforce the state’s new gun law, Initiative 1639. They must reconsider, enforce the law as it is and find another, legal way to protest. Not to do so is to flout their oath and responsibility to citizens. And, as Attorney General Bob Ferguson warns in a sharply worded l...

Los Angeles seeks to trample over the First Amendment with anti-NRA proposal

The Los Angeles City Council misfired with its 14-0 vote last week to require all individuals or companies seeking city contracts “to disclose all contracts with or sponsorship of the National Rifle Association.” City Attorney Mike Feuer said the city is on “firm legal ground” with the ordinance, which follows two similar measures requiring prospective city contractors to disclose whether they have contracts to work on the border wall, and whether a company made any profits from slavery in the y...
