Cassette Album Sales in the US Grew By 23% in 2018

Nielsen Music 2018 Report: On-Demand Streams Up 49%

Nielsen Music has released it 2018 Year-End Highlights. The survey shows a year of significant overall industry growth, with total album equivalent audio consumption up 23% over 2017, driven by a 49% increase in on-demand audio song streams compared to 2017. XXXTentacion shooting: Rapper's music sales skyrocket 1,603% as fans hold impromptu vigils

R. Kelly Streams Increase After Spotify Ban

A week after Spotify made R. Kelly the poster boy for its "Hate Content and Hurtful Conduct" policy, total streams of his music actually went up slightly. Last week,  Spotify removed the R&B singer’s music from its official playlists, citing its new policy. Before Spotify's May 10th announcement, R. Kelly averaged 6,584,000 weekly streams for the year.
