Shares of VMware, Inc. slipped over 7% Wednesday on news the company's CEO Pat Gelsinger is headed to Intel.
Gelsinger will be replaced by CFO Zane Rowe in the interim while the board and majority stakeholder Dell Technologies decide on a replacement.

Intel CEO Bob Swan will be replaced by CEO of VMware Pat Gelsinger, the company said Monday.
The change will go into effect on February 15 and comes after the chip giant saw a rough year in 2020. Last summer, it announced that production problems would delay its next-generation chips.
