‘South Park’ is the Latest Series Looking to Land a Huge Streaming Deal

South Park has been making headlines lately for poking and prodding at the oppressive Chinese government and its endless attempts to censor its citizens from any criticism in the media whatsoever. That may not be good for the show’s exposure in China, where it’s been banned, but in the United States, it’s not preventing creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone (as well as Comedy Central parent company Viacom Inc.) from landing a huge deal for the exclusive streaming rights to the complete series. ...

The Masked Singer Season 1 Finale Recap: Last Mask Standing

To quote a classic line uttered often by Saturday Night Live troop member/The Masked Singer guest panelist Kenan Thompson: What up with that?! Town halls helped shape the midterm. Will they in 2020?

Early after the election of President Donald Trump, a small but vibrant part of America’s political debate played out in old-school, face-to-face events involving elected representatives and the constituents who pay their salaries, events also known as town halls. And the conflicts that often erupted in those town halls – scenes often recorded on video and posted to the Internet – helped shape the results of the 2018 midterms. Except when they didn’t. In the past 12 months or so, many elected re...

National political eyes turn to So Cal, but political money isn’t flowing everywhere

While it’s true that Southern California is a national political battleground this year, with a bevy of House races that could determine the direction of the country, it’s also true that all politics — including political finance — is local. And in that regard, some parts of Southern California are hotter political zones than others. Consider: In the current election cycle, super PACs, which can raise and spend unlimited amounts provided they don’t coordinate with candidates, have spent more tha...

Baby peacock shows off its tiny feathers for the first time

Did you know a baby peacock is called a peachick? I didn't until I started writing this post up. I'm not even sure I had ever even seen a baby peacock, er peachick, before in my life. This peachick's name is Drew and he was rescued by the folks at Hairy Farmpit Girls in White Oak, Georgia. Last week, they captured him strutting around with his new big-bird feathers for the first time and it's really, really cute.
