AI photo startup Polarr raises an $11.5 million Series A

Bay Area photography startup Polarr announced this morning that it has raised an $11.5 million Series A. The new round of funding, led by Threshold Ventures with participation from Pear Ventures and Cota Capital, brings the startup’s total funding to around $12.5 million, according to the latest Crunchbase figures. Seed-focused Pear seeks $35 mln for expansion fund

Palo Alto, California-based venture firm Pear, which raised $75 million for its second seed-stage fund in 2016, is seeking to raise $35 million for Pear Ventures I Expansion, according to a regulatory filing. The firm is led by Pejman Nozad and Mar Hershenson, the founding managing partners. Past investments include Branch Metrics, JetInsight and Door Dash, among others.

Deep-linking startup Branch is raising more than $100M at a unicorn valuation

Branch, the deep-linking startup backed by Andy Rubin’s Playground Ventures, will enter the unicorn club with an upcoming funding round.
