What Good Can A Handgun Do Against An Army?

Recall when I said this? Do you suppose this would look like great land armies getting into formation at the edges of great fields of battle and marching towards each other?  What do you think such a messy civil war in America would look like?  Bubba would be wearing a Ghillie suit, shooting a bolt action rifle, or a modern sporting rifle, and after the shot you will never hear from him again – until the next one.  And you’ll never catch him.  Police will have to decide what side to take, and if...

Hi from California

1st post here - hello from Los Angeles, CA. I don't believe in Zombies or the Red Dawn, but I have had my mind on earthquakes, fires and civil unrest for some time now - that last one especially. Stuck here in Los Angeles for the time being, so I keep busy stocking water, food and not quite enough guns and ammo for the lady to divorce me yet... lol. Looking forward to contributing to this forum, thanks for having me. -W

AI and CGI will transform information warfare, boost hoaxes, and escalate revenge porn

Humans can generally trust what they see and hear — but that won't be the case for long. Advances in AI and CGI will soon make it possible for anyone to create photorealistic video and audio. Experts say it will transform information warfare, allowing the creation of sophisticated propaganda and misinformation. The tech's impact will be profound, turbocharging everything from fake news and hoaxes to revenge porn and DIY entertainment. Hoaxes and trickery are almost as old as human history. Whe...

1st Time Shooting at 200 yds (with Iron Sights)

Even though it is in need of some serious trimming, I finally got the opportunity to shoot on my friend’s 200 yd line. His table is set up for right-handed shooters, but I shoot a rifle lefty. So, I had to sit on the left side of the extension and lean forward, and to my right, to get both elbows on the table, and the target in my sights. The rifle was a PTR 91 GI, and the ammunition was German surplus. Here’s the view from the shooting table down to the 200 yd target: What’s that you say...

Russian "observation flight" over US soil

http://www.newsweek.com/russia-obser...rritory-609932 Spy planes are being allowed to fly over the mainland US. Is this what's it's come to? You think their satellites aren't enough, they are allowed to go for a ride around the skies snapping pics as they go? Did I sleep through some sort of Red Dawn event that Russia now has superiority of the USA? Leaked info, photo opportunities, Putin gaining the upper hand. Would RR have stood by and let this once great nation turn in on itself and be pi...

The Great Powers Boothe Has Died at 68

Powers Boothe, the imposing character with a gravelly voice and a penchant for playing dangerous men, has passed away at 68. He leaves behind dozens of memorable film and television roles – he played cowboys and crooks and presidents and soldiers. We brought the American west to life and lent his unique gravitas to the Marvel Cinematic Universe…and he made it look effortless. The news was initially revealed by Boothe’s friend, Beau Bridges, on Twitter. The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Bo...

Lessons from Red Dawn

You have likely seen the movie. If not, you’ll have to rent it via Red Box or shop it from old stocks of CDs. I mean even the star Patrick Swayze has now passed on. Without ruining it for you, the basic element of the story was a Russian invasion of the western United States.[.....] The post Lessons from Red Dawn appeared first on AllOutdoor.com. Charlie Sheen Comments On Ex Brooke Mueller's Breakdown With A Seemingly Supportive Poem!

Charlie Sheen seems to have some sympathy for ex Brooke Mueller's recent plight! As you surely know, the 39-year-old made headlines earlier this week after she acted bizarrely at a Salt Lake City bar and went missing with her twins, Bob and Max. Thankfully, Miz Mueller has since been tracked down and hospitalized following her erratic behavior. According to an insider, Brooke "went off of her medications." Related: Charlie Spent His Birthday With His Daughters Sheen, who has struggled with his o...

Farkakte Film Flashback: Don’t Vote Trump Edition

I usually try to avoid getting political in this space, except in the case of truly extreme circumstances, such as if the republic were ever in danger of being taken over by an ignorant, xenophobic, narcissistic blowhard whose potential governing style (and personal grooming habits) could probably best be described as a combination of Richard Nixon, Dr. Evil and Pizza the Hut from Spaceballs. Oh, that is happening? OK, here we go then. The fact of the matter is, even if everything anyone’s ever...

REVIEW: Monster Energy Mutant Super Sodas

I wonder if internally at Monster Energy Headquarters, which I imagine is a radioactive green building with giant ramps on its sides that allow action sports stars to jump over the building, they called their new Super Sodas, Monster Dew. In the world of radioactive colored sodas, Mountain Dew is far and away the most popular, and probably the most radioactive colored. So I understand why Monster decided to go after Mountain Dew’s marketshare. It could be successful or it could end up like Coca...

Bible Colleges’ Best Kept Secret

This sponsored post was prepared by Jared Wilson on behalf of Midwestern College. I don’t always arrive for work at Midwestern Seminary before sunrise, but I often do. It was an ordinary late summer morning in Kansas City—the first rays of dawn barely a glint behind the Northland campus woods—when I pulled into the east parking lot. I am used to taking campus security by surprise with my early arrival, but on this morning, the surprise was all my own. As my headlights trailed across the asphal...

Access to Assault-Style Weapons Is an Assault on the Neighborhoods of America

Shock. Sadness. Grief for the families and victims. These are my first reactions to reports of yet another mass shooting in the US. My second reaction is to scan the reports for a particular sentence. And I always find it. 'The gunman was armed with an assault rifle, an AR-15.' It's a phrase that seems to follow mass shootings in the US in recent times. Legally purchased military style assault weapons are widely proliferated throughout the suburbs of many states in America. Even to the casual ob...

Jack Hunt's 'The Renegades' is the 'Red Dawn' of zombie novels

In Jack Hunt's 'The Renegades,' a small team of High School students survive the zombie apocalypse. At no point, however, will you be crying out "Wolverines!" Castle Rock, Nevada has nothing going for it but an annual halloween-time zombie run. Naturally, several of the local High School's less-fitting-in sort have named themselves, titularly, "The Renegades" and are quite good at making it past all the fake zombies. The world has changed, and finally these bozos have a useful skill. Rapid fire...

Christian Parents: Your Children Need More Than a Bomb Shelter

An excerpt from 'You Are What You Love'. T he image of the nuclear familyhas always been an ambiguous one for me. Of course it’s meant to convey a picture of a centered family, anchored by a mom and a dad, with children orbiting around them as satellites, together serving as one of the basic units of society—an “atomic unit,” if you will. But having been raised during the denouement of the cold war and shaped by movies like Red Dawn , for me the notion of a “nuclear” family also carried connot...

8 Movies That Harry Dean Stanton Made Better Just by Being in Them

Veteran actor Harry Dean Stanton turns 90 this year. His wildly varied career contains a few starring roles (the haunting Paris, Texas is a must-watch), but the man’s true gift is portraying memorably offbeat characters that may only appear in a few scenes—but that still improve the entire movie.Read more...

Paramount Bans 'Team America' Screenings in Wake of...

I know one reaction I've had to the North Korean hackers and their attack on Sony and their movie ' The Interview ' is "Why now?" Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are not the first American filmmakers to make fun of North Korea, or even its real-life leaders. 'Team America: World Police,' for example, featured a marionette-version of late North Korean dictator Kim Jong-il, who wants to destroy Western Civilization ; the 2012 'Red Dawn' remake actually changed its Asian invaders from Chinese to North...

Boomstick

L et's play a game. They come in different shapes and sizes, but that doesn't have anything to do with whether they can get the job done. If you have one, it's hard to keep your hands off of it. Failing to use it safely can really ruin someone's day. In this country, we can safely assume that at least half of the population has one.
