First Look: Honma T//World 747 Rose Proto MB Irons

When it comes to new blades making a statement at the Masters, I’d say TaylorMade – with an assist from one Eldrick Tont Woods – won the day with its new P7TW irons. The Twitterati has been making a chrome forged spectacle of itself over Tiger’s new sticks ever since Sunday’s final tap-in. Yep, Tiger’s new blades are sexy as hell and clearly the girl everyone wants to dance with. Arguably, Honma couldn’t have picked a worse time to officially launch its new blades, the T//World 747 Rose Proto MB...

Woods climbs to world no. 6, Johnson retakes top spot

He was ranked outside the top 1,000 in November 2017 when he embarked on his comeback from a fourth back surgery, but now has the top five of Dustin Johnson, Justin Rose, Brooks Koepka, Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas in his sights. Johnson reclaimed the world number one ranking from Rose just a week after losing it to the Englishman, thanks to his tied-second finish behind Woods as Rose missed the Masters cut for the first time in his career. Koepka jumped back above McIlroy to third despite nar...

Mortal Error

The inward kernel of truth has the same configuration as the outward shell. The mind can grasp the shell but only the Spirit of God can lay hold of the internal essence. Our great error has been that we have trusted to the shell and have believed we were sound in the faith because we were able to explain the external shape of truth as found in the letter of the Word. From this mortal error fundamentalism is slowly dying. We have forgotten that the essence of spiritual truth cannot come to the on...

Comment on asparagus, goat cheese and lemon pasta by Rose

Hello, I just made an adaptation of this recipe and it turned out delicious. I didn’t have any tarragon, my asparagus somehow went bad before I could use it, but I did have baby broccoli. So, I used the baby broccoli instead of asparagus and I added some chopped basil and arugula, because well why not! And, I used 5 oz of plain goat cheese and 2.5 oz of herbed goat cheese, so it had a little bit of the herb kick. The lemon is so good with the goat cheese. I can’t tell you how much I love all of...

Danny Rose gives his opinion on VAR handball penalty drama vs Man City

Was it a penalty or not? Tottenham defender Danny Rose has spoken out over VAR’s decision to award a penalty to Manchester City after the ball hit his hand in the box. Rose and Spurs took on City in a crunch Champions League clash at their new stadium on Tuesday. While the game was brilliant, it was overshadowed by another controversial decision by VAR. Danny Rose was adjudged to have handballed in the area after flying into a block. Though, a fair few suggested that the player’s hand was not t...

Recap of the Copyright Office’s Section 512 Study Roundtable

On Monday, I participated in a Copyright Office roundtable regarding their long-delayed report on Section 512. The roundtable was intended to update the study’s record from 2017, when progress stalled on the report. Thus, the topic nominally was to discuss how the law, especially the caselaw, had changed in the intervening years. In fact, 512 caselaw has noticeably slowed down since 2017, so there are only a handful of cases to discuss, and they reached messy results. Some cases since Jan. 1, 20...

20 Coachella festival performances we’ll never forget

The 20th anniversary of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is almost upon us and our reporters have logged many, many miles on the grass (and to and from the parking lots) at the Empire Polo Club in Indio. This year’s festival happens April 12-14 and April 19-21 and the lineup includes headliners Childish Gambino (who we saw back in the day in 2012), Tame Impala (who played the fest in 2011, 2013 and 2015) and Ariana Grande, who makes her debut as something more than a surprise guest. ...

Masters 2019 morning rundown: Tiger shuns Thomas (on advice), Rose quells idea of curse, and an ominous Masters forecast

Tiger staying mum around Thomas Tiger Woods hasn't won the Masters in 14 years. As Justin Thomas found out, that doesn't mean his competitive mindset has dulled. Woods and Thomas, along with Fred Couples, comprised the first group off the 10th tee at Augusta National Monday morning.

Firmly established as a modern great, yet many are unaware of just how special Rose is due to his unassuming nature. Gardeners Mourn the Closing of Beloved 89-Year-Old Garden Center

Yesterday my long-time favorite garden center announced it’ll close soon. Here’s my tribute to the company and its people on a local blog. I’m reposting it here for the Rant’s broader audience because the closing is part of a very sad national trend. Also, it shows what great independent garden centers are doing for customers and the community and why their disappearance is such a enormous loss. (Sob!)  It’s official. In today’s press release, Behnke Nurseries announced that after 89 years, it w...

Tottenham’s Danny Rose can’t wait to quit football due to racism

Rose slams failure to deal with abuse Tottenham defender Danny Rose has made a startling revelation recently about his future in football. Rose was one of several England players who were allegedly racially abused in England’s most recent game in Montenegro. UEFA have opened an investigation into the incidents that took place that night but Rose does not have high hopes anything useful will come out of it. This is because Rose believes countries/clubs do not get punished severely enough when th...
