We're on a Spring Break road trip that started in California last Friday, then a drive through Nevada and now in Utah visiting family and putting stamps in the children's National Park Passports.  I'm fitting in some "T.F.M. business" in the backseat of the minivan while the wife is behind the wheel towards Bryce Canyon National Park.  T.F.M. posts first and emails next. "Dad Life" (minus the clunky white New Balance kicks) meets "Hack Blogger Life"...Here's a six pack of internet articles worth...

QOTD: What’s Your Preferred Spring Break Chariot?

When people are forced to interact with each other via a common employer, it’s only a matter of time before the what-if games start up in earnest. We’re frequently guilty of it ourselves — a discussion about one author’s automotive preference naturally encourages everyone to contribute two cents of their own. The sad truth is […] The post QOTD: What’s Your Preferred Spring Break Chariot? appeared first on The Truth About Cars.

12 Things That Never Happen On Spring Break

Photo: Courtesy of Columbia Pictures. We don't always watch movies and TV for realism. In fact, some of the best films are those that allow you to escape to a totally un realistic situation. Like, spring break in Mexico, except you have a lot of money. Or, perhaps a scenario in which your parents have decided to take you on a tropical vacation to the Bahamas. Or even that you'd go anywhere but your couch for spring break at all.Spring break shows are especially guilty of getting our hopes up...

Best spring break trips in the US

You don’t have to do five-story beer bongs off a beachfront balcony to have a great spring break. Though let’s be honest, it’s a better story if you do. The annual respite from school and work that runs from the beginning of March to mid-April is one of the great American traditions, where college kids create memories they won’t remember, and families finally have time for some peace and quiet. Even if you can’t afford a week of debauchery in Mexico or a family jaunt to Europe, each state has...

Tinder hooking up on spring break

Not that it’s ever hard to meet people on spring break. A simple “Who’s next on the beer funnel?” is usually a pretty tried-and-true icebreaker. But in case you’d rather try and meet a potential spring break fling while you can still form coherent sentences, Tinder has you covered. Starting March 4, Tinder U is rolling out Spring Break Mode, which unfortunately will not keep you from swiping when your phone detects daiquiri mix on your fingers. But it will allow you to see who’s traveling to ...

Best US ski resorts for spring break

Spring Break doesn’t have to be about the beach. Nowhere can you complement the parties and late nights of a proper spring break with outdoor adventure and even a bit of exercise like you can in a ski town. These five skiing and snowboarding areas offer ample opportunity for the whole shebang. You should still bring your swimsuit, though, because the hot tub has your name written all over it. 1. Get paid to go on spring break

Spring break is a special time. A time when the general rules of human behavior go right out the window and doing things like living off tequila and Pringles is perfectly acceptable. A time when the only cure for a hangover is to start drinking again, and the only physical activity you need to worry about is flip cup. It’s a glorious time. And it doesn’t need to end when college does. Not that we’re espousing rolling through Cancun 20 years after graduation. But one company is looking for a q...

The biggest event in all 50 states

Every state has that one event that everyone either looks forward to or gets the hell out of town for — that festival, parade, or sporting event that draws people from all over the world and is a great time if you go but an even better time to leave and rent out your house. For travelers though, these events are some of the best ways to experience a city. Some of them are household names, stuff like Burning Man or the Kentucky Derby or New Year’s Eve in NYC. But even the big events in smaller...

Spring Break Should Be A National Holiday In The US

I’m a fan of spring break. I’m a believer in regular vacations. I love it when people I work with get away and disconnect. And, I do it at least four times a year. Spring break feels like it has gotten out of control. Rethinking it could be interesting. This year, at least 50% of the people I work with regularly are on spring break this week. I think the other 50% go on spring break next week. Easter seems to be the pivot point for this. Unlike the week before Christmas, which moves around ev...

A Travel Capsule Wardrobe for Spring Break

Enjoy your mid-semester getaway in style with a small wardrobe for on the go. Fact: Packing light for a getaway means more room for souvenirs. In the past, I chronically overpacked for trips. I would try to stuff my entire closet into a small suitcase. Then, while on my trip I would rummage through my suitcase with no idea what to wear just like back at home. Learn from my mistakes and don't do this!Packing a planned capsule wardrobe for trips allows you to pack lighter, know what to wear when ...

Would You Wear... a Fishnet Paneled Swimsuit?

It's perfect. Product Information: ASOS, Revolve, Forever 21 Typically we would advise against getting caught up in a net while swimming, but this season we are changing our tune.
