REVIEW: Limited Edition Team Cheerios Cereal (2021)

What is Team Cheerios Cereal? Three preexisting flavors of Cheerios have joined into one team: strawberry, frosted, and blueberry. How is it? I could tell from the box that these wouldn’t truly be red, white, and blue, especially since there’s no artificial food coloring. But I didn’t expect them to be positively pallid. Oh well. It’s the flavor that matters, right? I’m glad these aren’t just plain Cheerios with food coloring. I tasted each individual flavor dry. Frosted is just sweet. Str...

Comment on the red and black by kd

Strawberry plus black pepper is surprisingly good. I do an omelette in June which has as its filling sliced strawberries, black pepper, and sour cream (or creme fraiche). I stole the idea from Grendel’s Den in Cambridge in the 80’s.

Disney’s Marvel bar will serve boozy cocktails in beaker glasses that fill from the bottom

A new Marvel-themed bar will serve beer cocktails, “micro” brewed drafts and “shrunken” bite-sized snacks created by comic book technology developed for Ant-Man and the Wasp when Avengers Campus debuts at Disney California Adventure. The new Pym Tasting Lab debuting June 4 at the Anaheim theme park will dispense drinks from a mammoth beer can in the center of a hexagonal outdoor bar overlooking the central plaza of Avengers Campus. How to Make a Stunning Pavlova

While a pavlova may seem like a super fancy dessert, it’s actually very easy to make. It’s a giant meringue with a fluffy interior. The key to elevating this dessert is topping it with Chantilly cream, berries, syrup, and beautiful flowers. Ingredients Like meringues of all kinds, pavlova requires egg whites. I use 4 whites for a 6-inch diameter one. To get the best pavlova, use fresh eggs instead of old ones.Read the full article here

The Different Sides of Snowbasin

Snowbasin has been operating since 1939 and received a prime time showcase on the world stage during the 2002 Winter Olympics, but this gem in the Northern Wasatch is still Utah’s best kept secret. It’s a world-class resort with enviable amenities and terrain, but the absence of on-mountain lodging means you won’t find lift lines and tracked-out slopes. Ask around about and the conversation will invariably touch on the immaculate day lodges and excellent on-mountain dining. The reputation is w...

Kym Buttschardt: Ogden’s Ski Town Renaissance

A group of skiers sat at the bar in the , exchanging war stories about their big pow day up at . On the brightly colored chalk board were the beers of the day, most brewed up in the huge tanks behind the taproom. It was a boisterous atmosphere with a nice blend of skiers, snowboarders and just plain locals all enjoying the lifestyle of the sport. A century ago was the crossroads of the west as a vital rail junction. Today, it's revitalized as a ski town with 25th street downtown teeming wi...

REVIEW: Philadelphia Cheesecake Crumble Desserts

Self-care is Philadelphia’s new single-serve Cheesecake Crumble Dessert cups. After nearly 150 years, the Philadelphia cheese mongers finally went beyond providing cheesecake recipes inside the package to give us the actual cheesecake! OK, technically they call it a three-layer cheesecake with sauce, cheesecake filling, and crumble topping, but it’s all the same deliciousness to me. There are four flavors: Cherry, Chocolate Hazelnut, Original, and Strawberry. These were so enticing and tasty t...

Etoile Filante: A Triumph in Strawberry

I am always excited by the prospect of Louis Vuitton scents in the knowledge that they, essentially, come out of the same workspace as Dior’s private line, and there have been some real hidden gems cooked up by François Demachy there. Unfortunately, most Louis Vuitton compositions seem to follow rigid prototypes and don’t, in my opinion, justify the high price tags asked for them. That doesn... Ulta Cyber Monday Recommendations

Ulta’s Black Friday Sale was meh but Ulta Cyber Monday 2020 is shaping up to be quite outstanding. Basically they compiled almost every brand that had a sale this month into their own Cyber Monday sale. CoverFX, Bare Minerals, Lancome, many major brands that had sales are now on sale at Ulta which is a good thing as you can earn Ulta Rewards if you haven’t shopped any of these sales from the brand’s themselves yet! Word of the week: Cottagecore

Around the world, clothing sales have plummeted since mid-March, when shops around the world closed their doors to slow the spread of COVID-19 and “slob-chic” was the order of the day. According to one estimate published in early August, US apparel sales could shrink by as much as 50 percent in 2020. There was one odd, notable exception: a frilly, glittery, hyperfeminine, wholly impractical pink dress, printed all over with red strawberries, that became “a viral sensation,” according to Glamo...

Perfect Strawberry Cream Cheese Frosting

If you love strawberries, you’ll love this strawberry cream cheese frosting! It has a thick, creamy texture and it’s perfect for piping on cakes and cupcakes. While I love using strawberries in buttercream and whipped cream, the tang of the cream cheese pairs so well with them here. Friends request this frosting on both my chocolate cupcakes and vanilla cupcakes, but I think it’s amazing on my strawberry cupcakes. Strawberry Coffee Cake | Eggless Baking

Strawberries may seem like an odd choice in a baked product, but they actually taste really yummy enveloped in a sweet batter cake. They cook and become incredibly soft and jammy. You almost feel like you are eating a jam cake with all the best flavors surrounding it - vanilla, cinnamon, strawberry. The crunch of the cinnamon sugar adds a wonderful texture to the finished product. There are two ways (well, so many actually!!) to enjoy this cake. The first is warm with a good vanilla ice crea...

Strawberry Hand Pies

Strawberries are in season and the ones I’ve had this year taste better than ever. I’ve been eating them on my cereal and churning them into ice cream, as well as making classics like strawberry shortcake. Strawberries are often incorporated into dishes where they don’t have to be cooked, since the juicy berries give off a lot of liquid and tend to lose their shape and jewel-like color when baked, but even though their look changes, strawberries become even deeper in flavor when cooked, so you ...
