OK, I lied

Another Beaujolais post. Ken came home from the grocery store with a new supply of Beaujolais nouveau for the coming week. Good thing. These bottles come from Super U and are sold under the store's brand. We drank the one with the purple peacock feather label (second from the left) on Saturday and it was tasty. More sage and wheat

Here's another view of the flowering clary sage that's planted around our real fake well, and the tiny crop of volunteer grain growing inside it. The grain comes from the bird feeder that hangs over the well in winter. The sage is at it's peak now. I thought I'd post another photo of them before the flowers fade and go to seed. Tartelettes au citron

Ken found these little lemon tarts at the bakery that was closest to our gîte. They were quite tasty. Before we visited this particular bakery, we got some little strawberry tarts from the bakery in the big supermarket nearby. I have to say that the supermarket's tarts were every bit as good as the traditional bakery's tarts. I wonder how many times a day the baker has to pipe the word "citron" (lemon) on his tarts.
