Savoey The Best Thai Seafood Restaurant in Terminal 21 Pattaya

( = || []).push({}); We have not visited Pattaya for many years and recently we revisited the beach city. There is a new shopping mall and it is the Terminal 21 Shopping Centre Pattaya. It is owned by the same owner of Terminal 21 Bangkok. The concept is the same but this mall is bigger than the one in Bangkok and almost twice the size. The are two ‘planes’ outside of the mall, a small private jet and a commercial size airplane. If you are look...

Exploring Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market, just outside Bangkok

Thai hospitality begins with food. “Have you eaten?“ I was greeted with this question almost as soon as I arrived at the cooking class that marked the beginning of my tour in a little shack along the canal’s edge. I didn’t have time to answer before I was presented with a huge fresh coconut to quench my thirst from the day’s rising heat and told lunch would be ready shortly. It was barely 10 am, and I had only finished eating breakfast an hour earlier. I pondered how my tour leaders would react ...

Photo Diary: Visiting Bangkok’s Grand Palace and Wat Po

Chaotic, colourful, golden: these are three words I’d use to describe Thailand, especially its dynamic capital Bangkok. My last trip to Thailand, and first to the country, had been for work not play, so I didn’t really have the opportunity to explore the city. This time I was determined to get outside and where better to start than visiting two of the cities most famous sites – the Grand Palace and Wat Po. Into the Grand Palace In the heart of the city lies The Grand Palace, the official resi...

A Taste of Thailand in Trang

Now well into my seventh year of shuffling back and forth to Thailand, I find myself frequently fielding the question, “haven’t you seen it all?” Heck no! The truth is, I can’t imagine a day I’ll ever be done exploring this country. Thailand has seventy-six provinces, and despite the dozens of expired visas in my passport I’d only spent the night in nine of them up until this particular visit to the Kingdom (I managed to rack up five new ones in my most recent seven month stay). So when the Tour...
