‘Star Wars Episode 9’ is Definitely the End of the Skywalker Saga, Says Oscar Isaac

When a press release from Disney and Lucasfilm last summer announced the cast of Star Wars Episode 9, it casually mentioned that this chapter would be “the final installment of the Skywalker saga.” Now franchise cast member Oscar Isaac has doubled down on those claims, and he makes it sound like this really will be the end of the road for the primary Star Wars saga. ‘Triple Frontier’ Review: A Great Cast Scowls and Shoots Their Way Through This Junk Food Action Flick

Triple Frontier had a long, strange journey to the big (and in most cases, small) screen. Back in 2011, Kathryn Bigelow was set to direct, with Tom Hanks starring. By 2015, Bigelow was out, and J.C. Chandor was in. Chandor would spend the next several years with the project, with one big name after another being floated for potential cast members: Johnny Depp, Tom Hardy, Channing Tatum. At one point, the Affleck brothers – Ben and Casey – were being courted to star. But the Afflecks eventually ...

Film Review: ‘Triple Frontier’

J.C. Chandor is a gifted anomaly, a writer-director of reality-oriented drama who, until now, has made just three features: the high-finance meltdown thriller “Margin Call” (2011), the Robert-Redford-stranded-at-sea solo adventure “All Is Lost” (2013), and the good-man-gone-bad business/crime tragedy “A Most Violent Year” (2014). Each Chandor film, to me, has been better than the one […]
