Depiction of Michigan as Hands Doesn’t Preclude Similar Depictions–High Five v. MFB

High Five Threads sells t-shirts and tchotchkes. It claims copyright and trademark protection for a depiction of upper and lower Michigan as two hands (left-most image below). People routinely depict lower Michigan as a hand, and apparently others envision the two peninsulas as giving each other a “high five” (which inspired the plaintiff’s name). The defendant depicted Michigan with a similar two-hand graphic (see right-most photo below). Copyright. The court says High Five’s depiction has th...

However, most of my books are in Georgian language (Titles, author names) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georgian_language Before I purchase, could anyone help me testing if Kobo's system font/gui supports the Georgian characters? Any screenshot/photo would be helpful! Here is one of the books for testing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1c_p...ew?usp=sharing (also attaching the file) Attached Fi...

Apple Transporter and Microsoft Remote Desktop Gain Native M1 Mac Support

Apple has updated its Transporter app for developers with native support for Apple silicon Macs, while Microsoft has done the same for its Remote Desktop app. The Transporter app lets developers drag and drop binaries for quick upload to App Store Connect and easily view details like progress, warnings, errors, and delivery history. The added support for Apple silicon means developers working on an M1-equipped Mac mini, MacBook Air, or 13-inch MacBook Pro should see a significant performance...

Unicode Support in Tolino

Hello All, I am new to the forum. If something is amiss with my post please let me know. I have the following problem. I currently have a kindle paperwhite 3. There are some webpages I have downloaded and want to generate an ebook out of. Those pages are in my native language, which is Sinhala. I tried converting the html to AZW3 using Calibre and embedded the font. But the kindle doesn't use the embedded font and shows some gibberish https://ibb.co/ZHDSzf5 while a correct display should be like...

Inability to edit e-books in certain ways?

I've been trying to edit some e-books I've downloaded on my 2018 Kindle Paperwhite, but it doesn't seem to be working. Specifically, I've been trying to remove blank spaces, add Unicode ligatures, and add curly quotes to my e-books. The first way I've done this is by using the convert function on Calibre, which lets you remove blank spaces and replace text with your own. Since I prefer AZW3, I just do AZW3 to AZW3. After doing this, I replace the old e-book files with these new ones. However, ...

Moon+Reader: Unicode characters

Moon+Reader Pro 6.5, Android 10, Samsung Galaxy Note S4. Non-latin characters seem to be rendered in a perculiar way, see screenshot. In my setup, embedded images are shown in a similar way (i.e., white background while the surrounding text has a slight grey background), which leads to think that these characters are rendered as images instead of text. When the word is selected, it is correctly selected as all text. Any ideas? Attached Thumbnails

FocusWriter

I've discovered a "distraction-free" tool some folks might like — FocusWriter. Once you get it set up the way you like it's very nice. I'm just going to paste what I wrote for the attached screenshot here... Quote: FocusWriter This is FocusWriter. It’s “marketed” as a distraction-free writing tool. I kind of like it. But you have to understand something about it. When you first install it and try to use it, you get a tiny Times New Roman font. You’ll probably ...
