With a smooth three-point stroke and a gorgeous swish, Utah Jazz sharpshooter Kyle Korver moved into fourth place on the career three-pointers list on Saturday. Except it was not particularly exciting for Korver, since he had already done it before. Korver began the year with the fourth-most three pointers in NBA history until Stephen Curry leapfrogged him last week.

Clippers make shoring up transition defense a priority

PLAYA VISTA — The Clippers won’t steal your lunch money. And they’re not much for gambling. They’re just not those kinds of guys. In fact, the Clippers are tied with the San Antonio Spurs for last in the league in steals, with 6.3 per game. But that’s by design, they say. They’re reliant, for the most part, on a more standard, solid security system. “Every good defensive team, by the way, is designed not to gamble,” Clippers coach Doc Rivers said. “Some teams are longer, they get their hands on ...

Analysis: Confronting the big questions about the Lakers’ injuries

The way things have been sliding for the Lakers, the news that Kyle Kuzma is at least questionable for Friday’s game should draw a common-sense reaction. Whew. As the Lakers (21-17) well know, it could be so much worse. Nearly at the halfway point in the season, the Lakers sat in seventh place in the Western Conference before Thursday’s games looking for the silver lining. An MRI confirmed that Kuzma, who left the second quarter of a 107-100 loss to the Thunder on Wednesday, suffered a lower bac...

Board Question #91862: The Utah Jazz has been mediocre for most of my ...

Q: Dear 100 Hour Board,The Utah Jazz has been mediocre for most of my childhood and now adulthood. What should they do to become a powerhouse team again?-My Name Here A: Dear you, They need a point guard that can also stretch the floor. Ricky Rubio is a solid starting point guard, but he isn't going to help the Jazz become a "powerhouse". It would also be helpful to have a big man that can shoot a good clip and defend quicker forwards or be able to switch onto guards. I think Donovan Mitchell ...

Kevin Durant, Steve Kerr at odds over how much Warriors should pass
