Atari "dragon" hoards retro loot and every buyer risks being eaten alive

Best Electronics offers a unique and startlingly extensive range of genuine Atari parts, the result of proprietor Bradley Koda's canny purchases of warehouses full of then-worthless gear during the company's decline and demise. But for the enthusiastic buyer, Vice reports, he is a "temperamental dragon" guarding a hoard, happy to have it all and in no rush whatsoever to part with it: Don't Piss Off Bradley, the Parts Seller Keeping Atari Machines Alive. — Read the rest

When a watch auction in Asia or the United States nears its last day, I always put the Nivada Grenchen Travelmaster on my wrist. #TBT Is The Oris Star The Greatest Vintage Diver Of All Time?

It couldn’t be any better. I like everything about the Oris Star. The shape, dial, bezel, wearability, and functionality. The only detail some modern critical eyes might object to would be the 36mm diameter. On the other hand, the watch is perfectly balanced thanks to the original bracelet, fitted with an Oris signed clasp.  I […] Visit #TBT Is The Oris Star The Greatest Vintage Diver Of All Time? to read the full article.

Giant Chicken Army – Liberty, New York Edition

Throughout the fall, winter and the cold parts of spring, I spent a lot more time driving than I did riding. Putting the heat vents on your feet, wearing gloves and a hat make driving with the top down on the convertible really lovely. Even down into the 40 degree temps. Though it was dreary … Read More Read More The post Giant Chicken Army – Liberty, New York Edition appeared first on Girlie Motorcycle Blog.

#TBT Rare Sinn Decimal Chronograph Worn On A Very Special Day

Everything about this early 1970s Sinn Decimal is so special to me. Not only is it the rarity of the watch itself worth three existing pieces, but also the pretty unusual way I obtained it. Hoppe’s to Bring Back Classic Glass No.9 Bore Cleaner Bottle

I’m a huge fan of vintage firearms products, especially ones that I remember from when I was a child. Two notable products that come to mind are Peters brand .22LR ammunition and Hoppe’s No.9 Bore Cleaner. While Hoppe’s is still going strong today, their glass bottles went nearly extinct a long time ago in favor […] Read More … The post Hoppe’s to Bring Back Classic Glass No.9 Bore Cleaner Bottle appeared first on The Firearm Blog.

Alpina Rensie Retrospective: The Crazy Sound Of A Bumper Movement Watch

I bet most of you have your underdog. A decent smaller watch that you all hold on to, even though you don’t wear it often. The bumper Alpina Rensie is one of the earliest vintage watches I bought. Uses for the 1960 catalog of graph sheets

There are many types of vintage graph sheets (not "paper"), and this video offers a tour of a fantastic book of samples. A sampling of graph papers included in the Keuffel & Esser company (K+E) catalog, 42nd edition, 1960. Ebay is an occasional source of treasure; specialists remain, but without the same elan; you may have to make do with the graph paper generator and your own printer.

#TBT The Gallet Commander Won In A Bar Gamble By A Grandpa
