Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” Reimagined To Account For Climate Change

“Like the original music, some of the representation is fairly literal: Instead of hearing strings play what sounds like a thunderstorm once, you might hear it repeatedly, illustrating the extreme rainfall that some cities will experience. Much of the score, though, is meant to evoke the feeling of each season. Vivaldi’s “Spring” was intended to be joyful; the new version sounds discordant.” – Fast Company

Vivaldi Browser Adds a Pause Button For the Internet

It can be hard to tear yourself away from the never-ending stream of content provided by the internet, so Vivaldi decided to make taking a break easier by introducing a pause button. PCMag reports: Version 3.3 of the Vivaldi browser introduces a new feature called "Break Mode." Rather than having to close your browser, Break Mode allows you to effectively pause your access to the internet with a button press. Windows 10 - Default browser & identifier links

Every few months or so, Windows 10 likes to "forget" my default browser and set it back to the default (insert many curses about Edge here). It happened again today. I set it back to Vivaldi, but now no matter what I do (restart Calibre, restart Windows, change the default browser to something else), clicking on any identifier links in Calibre (goodreads, amazon, url, etc) fail to open it in the browser. It worked fine before my browser default reset itself. Any suggestions on how to fix this?...

Hear 10 of Bach’s Pieces Played on Original Baroque Instruments

We could say that the music of Johann Sebastian Bach transcends instrumentation. Wendy Carlos did a great deal to prove that with her 1968 album Switched-On Bach, composed entirely (and laboriously) on an early Moog synthesizer. Despite its controversial union of long-revered compositions with practically untested musical technology, that project won high praise, not least from as famed an interpreter of Bach as Glenn Gould. Here at Open Culture we've featured many of Gould's own perform...
